Woodstock vs. Washington Overreach

A reenactment of the original American rebels who fought for independence from the British.

I’ve begged Woodstock’s City Council to see what’s coming. Project 2025 is just one piece of it. The Trump administration’s attacks on freedom and safety won’t stop at our city limits. They will hit Woodstock.

What did we get? Radio silence. Not a word from the Mayor. Not a question from Council. It’s like they believe Woodstock lives in a bubble — as if we’re not part of the United States of America.

The truth is clear: things that happen nationally do affect us locally.
And it’s just as clear that MAGA has a hold on City Hall. But that grip doesn’t represent most of us. Only about a third of Woodstock’s population voted for Trump. Two-thirds are independents or Democrats — neighbors who want a city that works for everyone, not a party machine.

And let’s be honest: the administration’s policies are unpopular and will hurt all of us.

  • It’s not good for your third grader if his friends vanish from the classroom because their parents were abducted by ICE.

  • It’s not good for your grocery bill when tariffs drive up food costs and create shortages.

  • It’s not good for Woodstock families if Washington politicians dictate your medical decisions instead of you and your doctor.

  • And it’s not good for anyone if federal disaster agencies are gutted while storms get stronger.

Resisting doesn’t make us weaker. It makes Woodstock safer, steadier, and more secure.

What Woodstock Could Do

  • Protect Housing for Everyone
Requiring attainable housing in new developments isn’t charity — it keeps neighborhoods stable, prevents displacement, and protects the hometown character we all value.

  • Build Resilient Transportation
Safer sidewalks, bike lanes, and trails like “Connect the Creeks” cut traffic accidents, give first responders more options, and keep kids safe walking to school. That’s more security, not less.

  • Defend Democracy at City Hall
Plain-language budget summaries, real public forums, and a resolution refusing to enforce unconstitutional federal directives — whether on immigration, reproductive care, or censorship — build trust and protect freedoms right here at home.

  • Spend Our Money Wisely
Woodstock manages tens of millions in taxpayer dollars. Every dollar should strengthen long-term safety — through attainable housing, small business support, and flood prevention — not risky giveaways to luxury projects.

  • Plan for Climate & Safety
Stronger storms and hotter summers are already here. Preparing now for floods, heat, and emergencies protects families, businesses, and first responders. Planning ahead is the opposite of risk.

Top 5 Washington Power Grabs That Threaten Woodstock

  1. ICE raids tearing families apart.

  2. Tariffs raising food prices and creating shortages.

  3. Rollbacks on reproductive healthcare and privacy.

  4. Censorship of schools and libraries.

  5. FEMA and NOAA weakened, leaving us exposed to storms.

Cities across the country are becoming rebel cities — standing firm, protecting families, and refusing to be pawns. Woodstock can too.

Why I’m Running

Woodstock doesn’t have to wait until the damage is done. We can be one of those rebel cities — protecting families, safeguarding freedoms, and putting our money where it matters.

That’s why I’m running for Mayor. Not to sit in an ivory tower, but to give the people a mic, shine a light, and push until they can’t ignore us anymore.

This November, vote for safety, stability, and freedom.
Vote to make Woodstock a Rebel City.

Expose. Pressure. Repeat.
